![]() Dallam County is pleased to be represented by local school districts in each of our towns which provide Excellence in Education.
History:Originally, all schools within Dallam County were organized by and run through the County. The County Judge severed as an acting Superintendent with the County Commissioners' Court serving as an ad hoc Board of Trustees. At that time, schools were open in Dalhart, Kerrick, Texline, Coldwater and Perico. To this day, Dallam County maintains records for many of these old schools, including enrollment data, student information and staffing. In the 1960s, Dallam County residents voted to create Independent School Districts in order that each community could provide their own School District and elect representatives to the Board of Trustees to oversee the educational process. As this process occurred, many of the smaller schools combined in with the larger Districts until there were only two Independent School Districts in Dallam County. Dalhart ISD and Texline ISD. Dallam County is proud of it's affiliation with these Districts and invite you look through the school overviews listed in this section. |
